Krug’s Tavern was opened by Frank Krug in 1932. It was later purchased and still owned by the LaMotta family. Relatives of the late Jake LaMotta, middleweight champion boxer of the ’40s and ’50s, who was also portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the award winning “Raging Bull.”
